Treasures

Two days ago was the anniversary of my Grandmothers passing, which made me look through her prayer book again.
I'm amazed at how well she looked after this little religious card she received at her school graduation in 1928. It also contains between it's pages the newspaper obituaries of her Mother and one of her Brothers.
Even though i'm not very religious i treasure this little Book......When i have a rough day i press this Book close to me , imagining that she is with me. I don't know what comes after we leave this world but my hope is that i will see her again.
Ich hab dich lieb, Omi !

What magnificent treasures. I was close to my grandma as well. Sadly, I don't even have a picture. All was lost in a fire, but nothing can take my memories away.

I understand. I kept a piece of clothing from my mom and dad and when I feel in need of comfort I wrap myself in them. Lovely post.

So do I....hope that this is not the end and we are with our loved ones again. Having "THIS" to look forward to ,somehow makes life's rocky road possible to travel.
You have kept this treasure of hers well m/f and she whom was special to you, alive in your heart.

my grandmother was a hard shell Baptist..to her(Catholic then) I was a papist..and she gave me hell all of my young life. I'd like to think if she had lived to see me become a Pagan, she would have dropped dead...

That is a lovely little post and I'm sure that the treasured book and card will always be close to your heart.
Being Christian, I fervently believe in an after life. However, I don't think it will be like this life, but no one knows.
